February 2012 Support Payment Recipients
Laura is in the second year of her PhD and will use her funding to attend the 2012 Australasian Grain Science Association Cereal Chemistry Conference and to work with the food rheology research group at the University of Queensland.
James would like to improve his butchery skills before competing in the 2012 World Skills Competition. His funding will be used to allow him to travel to Sydney and work in the Victor Churchill Butchery.
Sally and Peter will each use their funding to complete a Diploma of Food Processing. They are from the Riverland aread and have designed and built a machine to puree fruit, mainly melons but also extending to cherries and other fruit as the need arises.
In addition to being a qualified Chef Sue works for Beerenberg as a consultant food technologist. She is passionate about product development and enjoys improving products. Her funding will be used to complete Cert IV and Diploma of Food Technology.
Chantelle demonstrated impressive dessert and patiserrie skills at her interview and will use her funding to complete a Patisserie Masterclass at Savour Chocolate and Patisserie School in Melbourne.
Currently working in a Quality Management role, Ronlee would like to formalise and improve her skills. Her funding will be used to complete a Diploma of Food Technology.
Having an interest in Quality Assurance Bec will use her funding to attend the 2012 Australian Beverages Council Technical School and give her an overall knowledge of beverage manufacturing. She looks forward to sharing this knowledge with others in her team at Bickfords.
As a local chocolatier, Steven follows a slightly European philosophy with his product based on quality and heritage, and believes strongly in using locally sourced produce. He would like to have a better understanding of the chemical ineractions in chocolates. His funding will be used to complete a Chocolates and Pralines Masterclass at Savour and he is looking forward to the opportunity to learn from Jerome Landrieu from Callebaut.
Andrew Wood A McLaren Vale winemaker, Andrews funding will contribute to his Master of Wine course fees and allow him to sit his Master of Wine exams.
Geordie Wright Having nearly 20 years of winery and vineyard experience, Geordie is extremely passionate about his industry. His funding will allow him to complete Lead Food Safety Auditor training. |
