Robert BakerRobert Baker

Robert has decided it is now or never to turn his short run high quality craft beer dreams into a reality.  He will be completing Mash Brewing and Certificate II Micro Brewing training at TAFESA with the eventual plan to open his own brewery/cellar door.

 

Alex BriggsAlex Briggs

Alex wants to represent his heritage, through food, in a way that is internationally recognised and wants others to see the incredible food culture we have to offer in this State.  He is keen to build on his food knowledge and skills and will use his funding to complete Bean to Bar training at Savour Chocolate and Patisserie School in Melbourne.

 

Mandy DavisMandy Davis

Fine and Dandy Teahouse is the creation of Mandy Davis.  She makes her product from fresh local SA and certified organic imported product and makes an incredible range of fruit and herbal teas.  She wants to be in the forefront of the tea businesses across the world and will utilise her funding to attend the 2016 World Tea Expo being held in the US.  She currently has 30 products on her tea list and retails in numerous SA locations.  Watch out for Mandy at the Willunga Farmers Market.

Scott DutschkeScott Dutschke

Having always had an interest in baking, Scott has now created The Sugar Pantry which is dedicated to satisfying your sweet cravings.  Scott wants to increase his skills and will attend 2 courses at Savour Chocolate and Patisserie School in Melbourne.

Liz GeorgeLiz George

Liz has been making home brew for numerous years and made stout, cider and ginger beer. With an opportunity on the horizon for employment in a regional microbrewery Liz plans to complete a Certificate II Micro Brewing. 

 

Mark HaaseMark Haase

Having a passion for food in general Mark is currently employed in a well known South Australian chocolate business.  He would like to be involved in the QA area and will utilise his training to complete a Diploma of Quality Audit.

 

Stefanie HinkleyStefanie Hinkley

Having always had a creative side Stef has her own home based business Fun Cakes and loves cake decorating.  She wants to expand her creative skills and will be completing 3 cake decorating courses to learn new techniques.  Her training will include a 4 tier wedding cake, 3D dragon cake and gravity defying desserts.

James HolmeJames Holme

Working on his parents vineyard James has always been interested in the fermentation process.  He intends to utilise his funding to complete a Certificate II Micro Brewing at TAFESA Regency with the plans to eventually set up a tasting room for their wine, brews and local cheese.

 

Pete NashPete Nash

Pete has been roasting coffee on Kangaroo Island for the last 18 months and has reached the stage that he wants to learn more.  He will travel to Melbourne to complete Specialty Coffee Roasting training.  Watch out for Pete at Chocol'Art & Coffee and Kangaroo Island Coffee Roasters in Dauncey Street, Kingscote.

 

Sam PeteringSam Petering

Sam will utilise his support payment funding to continue his studies for a Diploma in Brewing from the Institute of Brewing and Distilling (IBD).  He is interested in number of different beer styles and beers produced using varying production methods.  His long term goal is to produce a range of these different beers whether it be by starting a brewery of his own or working for someone else and utilising a barrel aging warehouse.

 

Matthew SpencerMatthew Spencer

Brewing home scale for the last 4 years Matt has made well over 100 batches.  He is immersed in the culture of the sector, has a thirst for knowledge and has chosen to complete the Certificate II Micro Brewing and the IBD exam for the General Certificate of Brewing. He firmly believes there is an ever expanding opportunity within the sector. Whilst his ultimate dream is to have his own brand he also realises that it can take years to master production techniques and skills. 

 

Alyce TappAlyce Tapp

Alyce works for a favourite South Australian food processing company as the QA Officer for production.  Her role allows her to work with individual companies testing the ingredients and the resultant end product. She is keen to enhance her research skills and her ability to create and implement ideas so has chosen to complete a Diploma of Qualty Audit with TAFESA Regency.
