Melvin Gonzalez

Melvin has worked in the meat industry for the last 4 years.  He has the desire to progress professionally and will use his funding to complete Certificate III in Meat Safety.

 

Gill Gordon-Smith

Having taught wine education for many years and now running her own wine education business in McLaren Vale called Fall from Grace,  Gill is very passionate about the wine industry and her students.

We are pleased to be able to provide funding for the first year of the Master of Wine, a tough prestigious course that Gill believes will  be both challenging and confronting.

Melanie Gowers  

Award winning Chef Melanie Gowers has a passion for Patisserie and enjoys the creative side of working in this area.  Melanie  has completed numerous training courses at Savour Chocolate and Patisserie School and has requested funding for one-on-one intensive training with Kirsten Tibballs. 

She is keen to learn new techniques so she can pass on her knowledge to apprentices and colleagues.

 

Caroline Mandelli-Burns  

Caroline is in the process of setting up her own Cellar Door/Cafe in McLaren Vale called Mandelli Estate.  

She is keen to further her skills and knowledge within the wine industry and intends to complete the Foundation, Level 2 and  Level 3 Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) courses through Fall from Grace.

 

Tamara Novakov 

Tamara is keen to have a better understanding of bread, cake and pastry baking skills.  She would like to continue learning and  have the skills to create visually complex desserts.

Her funding will be used for Certificate III Retail Baking Combined training. 

 

Deanna Tilker

Deanna has been in the food and beverage industry for many years.  She is passionate about South Australian produce and is a member of the Adelaide Hills Food Committee.

She owns and operates Adelaide Hills Gourmet Foods providing wholesale allergen free foods to Cafes and wineries.  Funding  will be used for various Savour patisserie courses.

 

Paul Triglau

Paul is a passionate baker/pastry chef who runs his own artisan bread/pastry bakery, Paolos Artisan Bakery.  He is continually  looking to expand his skills, range and repertoire and will be completing Chocolates and Pralines courses at Savour.  Look out for  Paul at the Adelaide Farmers Market.

Paul is also Captain of the 2010 Australian Baking Team and we wish the team every success.

 

Sarina Waterman  

Determined to "make her mark" in the food industry Sarina is passionate about the industry and has worked in various groups and steering parties including Adelaide Hills Food Group, Adelaide Hills Food Wine and Tourism Alliance and the Adelaide Hills Farmers Markets.  She feels she needs professional training to cement her skills and has requested funding to complete several Chocolates and Praline courses at Savour. 

Watch out for Sarina at the Adelaide Hills Farmers Markets.

 

William Wood  

As an owner and joint partner in Careme Pastry William has been heavily engaged in hands-on production since the business  started in 2005. He would like to develop his management skills by completing a Diploma of Frontline Management. 

William believes the success of the business and its continued growth requires a more strategic and informed approach to its expansion and believes the course will give him the necessary tools to successfully plan for the future and better manage the  operations.

Corrina Wright

Being the 6th generation of her family to work on the same property, Olivers Taranga Vineyards Winemaker and Director  Corrina feels it is imperative that she understands the legal requirements of being a Director.  She has committed to completing the Company Directors Course offered by the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Corrina is extensively involved in the industry being a Board member of the McLaren Vale Grape Wine & Tourism Association,  the Australian Society of Viticulture and a member of the Future Leaders for the Australian wine industry.

Melissa Zollo  

Heavenly Delights, created by Melissa Zollo in 1997, is dedicated to creating 100% premium quality, hand made, hand  decorated and hand packed indulgent treats to suit any occasion or taste.  As Melissa states in her promotional material "to devour our cookies is a truly Heavenly experience for you to Delight in".

Melissa has requested funding to allow her to complete a Diploma of Management to give her the skills to effectively run her  business without having to be so 'hands-on' with the day to day tasks.  She would like to concentrate on developing her market  presence and product range.
