Occupational Recognition for Cooks and Bakers
There are only 2 ways to become Trade qualified in this State. One is through successful completion of an Apprenticeship and the other is through the Occupational Recognition process.
Do you have the skills to be recognised as a Cook, Bread Baker or Pastry Cook?
Been in the industry for at least 4 years full time?
If your answers are yes then you may be eligible to apply for Occupational Recognition as a Cook or Baker.
Formerly known as Cooks and Bakers Trade Recognition, the application process changed effective July 2021. From that date the South Australian Skills Commission (the Commission) has been tasked with establishing Occupational Recognition Services for the State.
If you would like to apply for Occupational Recognition please email the South Australian Skills Commission via ors@sa.gov.au to register your interest. We suggest you note the name of your trade ie COOKS or BAKERS RECOGNITION in the subject line and include your full name, address, phone #, email address in the contents of your email. The Commission will contact you with a link to the online application forms, evidence requirements to be included with your online application, etc.
Once your application file has been transferred from the Commission to us we will contact you to explain the process and timing from there ie industry led interview, skill assessment, etc.
