Cooks and Bakers Trade Recognition
The Cooks and Bakers Trade Recognition application process changed effective July 2021. From that date the South Australian Skills Commission (the Commission) has been tasked with establishing a Trades Recognition Service. The following information refers to the application process prior to July 2021 and is provided for historical information purposes only.
There are only 2 ways to become Trade qualified in this State. One is through successful completion of an Apprenticeship and the other is through the Trade Recognition process.
Do you have the skills to be trade recognised as a Cook, Bread Baker or Pastry Cook?
Been in the industry for at least 6 years?
Completed Cert III Commercial Cookery or Cert III Retail Baking PLUS 2 years post certificate industry experience?
Have an overseas qualification as a Cook or Baker?
You may be eligible to apply for Trade recognition as a Cook or Baker. Refer to the links on the left side of this page for procedures and below for Trade Recognition brochures.
